The number 666 in Revelation 13:18 is definitely not the 144,000 with Jesus Christ mentioned in the very next verse.  Those two numbers, the two numbers most linked with Jesus Christ and the antichrist, is what this article is about.

The number 666 in Revelation 13:18 is definitely not the 144,000 with Jesus Christ mentioned in the very next verse, 12,000 from each of twelve tribes. (Rev 13:18, Rev 14:1.  See also Rev 1:6)  Not only that, chapter numbers and verse numbers aren't in the original text, they are bible aids.  Those two numbers, the number most linked with Jesus Christ the Lamb of God, and the number most linked with the antichrist, aren't even kept apart by verse numbering.  They are only a few words apart.  Reading things in context requires looking at what is immediately around what you are reading.

Let’s see if anything more can be learned by comparing this

1)  Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, has 144,000, 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes.

     The Antichrist has 666.

2)   Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, who died on the cross for our sins and gives us life.

The two horned beast looks like a lamb with its two horns, but sounds like a dragon, and gives people "life" through the sacraments (like mass)

3) Jesus Christ, the head of the church, is on Mount Sion, New Jerusalem.

The two horned beast is on the seven hills of Rome, Rome.

4) Mount Sion is also called by its city, New Jerusalem, and is a pure bride.

The seven hilled city is also called by the name of a city, Babylon, and is a great whore.

5) The 144,000 have the name of the Lamb of God's Father in their foreheads. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who alone can save you and died on the cross for your sins.

The people of the antichrist have the beast's mark in their foreheads.

6) The Lamb of God's Father is God, the Heavenly Father, who only is Holy.  (John 17:11, Rev 15:4, Mathew 6:9, Mathew 23:9)

The beast has a blasphemous name, "Holy Father".

7) Christians believe that only God can save you, and only God is their father.

Catholics believe that a priest has to make a mark on their forehead and baptize you, and therefore call all their priests father, and the pope (which means papa) "Holy Father" which is blasphemy.

8) The 144,000 were taken out of the 12 tribes equally, 12,000 a tribe(1).  They are part of the brotherhood of Christians, and first fruits, where each saved Christian is part of the priesthood. e.g. It is a "square deal", straight, equal, set".   (1 Peter 2:5-9, Rev 1:6.  see also Galatians 3:26-29.

The number 666 also looks interesting the same way.  In Latin, when you count, it is DCLXVI; with every Latin numeral used once, progressively getting higher.  It’s a ranked hierarchy, which is what the Roman Catholic Church calls its ranked set of priests, the hierarchy.

9) The 144,000 all have the name of one Father, the name of the Father of the only begotten son Jesus Christ written in their foreheads.

The great whore doesn't have one father for her children; she has all the fathers of the Roman Catholic Church and the pope, the 'Holy Father' for her children.  On the forehead of her children can't be the name of one father, because they've been fathered by an entire hierarchy of father priests, 666, and babylon is a great whore.

Friend, have you been baptized by Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit, and have the name of His Father within you?  Have you been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb of God and been born again?  (1 Peter 1:18-19)  Or have you been baptized by a priest with water, and have their mark on your forehead and are headed for damnation?  Now is the time to turn to Jesus Christ and be saved.  All praise and glory to God!  Amen.

(1) See Revelation 7 for more on the 144,000.

7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;  7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Newsflash

John 1: 29

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. 31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. 32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
